colourful and lively illustrations which add immensely to the fun.
Claude's gentle adventures and Alex T. Smith's irresistible illustrations make this a great book to share with children.
Funny, detailed illustrations.
I loved everything about this book.
Readers will be excitedly turning the pages.
The author is a comparitive newcomer to children's books; on this evidence, he should go far.
A treat for new readers.
Watch out for this new kid on children's books block, you will be won over!
This book is jam-packed with red and black illustrations that bring Claude's world to life. And once you've peeked into Claude's world, you'll definitely want to read more books in the series
I liked all the pictures, there are lots of them and they are colourful and funny. I would give this book ten out of ten. I am reading some of the other Claude books now too.

Comic talent not just for writing a good story but also illustrating it in a fitting but hilarious style.
Charming and gentle stories, these are a refreshing change from some of the formulaic series around. These are great books for reluctant readers - the stories are amusing, there is plenty happening, passages are short and the pictures are attractive and informative.
Another great talent... a sparing style is the perfect medium for his humorous tale.
