Uncover the magic of the surrounding natural world
Uncover the magic of the surrounding natural world!
Seashores are all around us, whether they are in the form of relaxing sandy beaches or towering cliffs. But, did you know, the seashores near you are brimming with life? This books uncovers the science and wonders of life on the shore.
The Great Outdoors aims to get kids looking at nature on their doorstep. Instead of larger biomes, the series looks at places children are most likely to have access to, like the local park, their back garden, or a beach. It encourages them to observe the wildlife and the ecosystems at work within these places, while taking in broader concepts. Each volume contains a minimum of 6 activities, which vary from observation to crafts, suitable for ages 7+.
Lisa Regan studied English and Linguistics at the University of Nottingham and gained a postgraduate diploma in Publishing at West Herts College. She has written over 400 published titles, including picture books, puzzle books, children's reference and curriculum-linked workbooks. She lives in Colchester, UK, with her sons, and a husband with an encyclopaedic knowledge of football.
Her work ranges from magazine-style books on fashion and sleepovers, to highly illustrated STEM titles that fit into schools and libraries lists. Her favourite topics are wildlife and geography, but she also has huge fun writing rhyming tales.
