Clement C Moore was a professor of oriental and Greek literature as well as divinity and Biblical learning. He wrote A Visit from St Nicholas (now better known as The Night before Christmas) for his children in 1822 and it is now a Christmas classic, known and loved around the world and at the centre of many of the stories relating to Santa Clause and his reindeer.
Mary Engelbreit made her name as a greetings card illustrator but soon transferred her skills to children's books and has had three New York Times bestsellers, including this title. Her popular art has also successfully transferred to fabric designs, clothing ranges and accessories. She lives in St Louis, Missouri, USA.
