Rudolf Farkas

Rudolf Farkas is passionate about fine art. He has been a painter for over 35 years and a freelancer illustrator since 2006. He has extensive experience in creating oil paintings and digital illustrations for children's books. Over the past 10 years, he has worked on numerous projects with various well-known publishers, such as Bloomsburry Publishing, Cambridge University Press, Harper Collins Publishers, Igloo Books Ltd., Oxford University Press, Penguin Random House, Weldon Owen Publishing and Ravensburger Company. One of his strengths is realistic representation. His interests vary from historic topics to flora and fauna. As a professional artist, he always welcomes new challenges and he really enjoys coming up with creative ideas.
Jim Field

Jim Field is a lead-driven, pencil-pushing, 25-frames-per-second Led Zeppelin fan. He is also a hugely talented illustrator and animation director. His first picture book Cats Ahoy! won the Booktrust Roald Dahl Funny Prize and was nominated for the Kate Greenaway award. He has since illustrated a string of bestselling, multi-award-winning children's books, including Oi Frog! and The Lion Inside, as well as young fiction series Rabbit and Bear. Jim is the 5th bestselling illustrator in the UK.
Sue Finnie

Sue Finnie is a freelance author and educational consultant with many years' experience of writing and editing materials for language learners of all ages and abilities.
Emma Fischel

Emma Fischel is an experienced writer, specialising in both fiction and non-fiction for children of primary school age. She has written several titles in this series. Emma lives in London with her three children.
Lizann Flatt

Lizann was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She's the author of over 12 nonfiction books and numerous short stories and poems. Her picture book "Let's Go! The Story of Getting from There to Here" was named the 2009 TD Grade One Giveaway title, which means the book was given to every grade one child in Canada-nearly 500,000 kids. Her work has appeared in Ladybug, Babybug, and Highlights for Children magazines. Lizann is a former editor of Canadian children's magazine Chickadee. She has an Honours English degree. When she's not writing, Lizann gardens, bakes, works as a part-time library circulation clerk, and photographs the flora and fauna in her backyard. (She's almost embarrassed to say it but, as the exception that proves the rule, she actually does have beavers in her backyard.)
David Flint

David Flint is Head of Primary Teacher Training at University College, Worcester, UK. He has written many educational books for children, including Continents: Europe (Hodder Wayland).
Martin Ford

Martin Ford is editor of Carpworld, the UK's leading carp fishing magazine, and has written for magazines around the world on all aspects of fishing. He has more than 40 years of angling experience.
Louise Forshaw

Louise was born in 1987 - most likely with a pencil in her hand! Her passion for drawing started at around 4 years old. Nothing was safe from her coloured pencils! She spent most of her childhood watching cartoons and drawing comics to give to her favourite teachers. She went on to graduate from Newcastle College in 2008 with a BA Hons in Illustration and Animation. Louise works from home in a small studio (and sometimes from the sofa) being supervised by three noisy and very naughty Jack Russell Terriers.

Bob has written/co-written fifteen of the eighteen 'What They Don't Tell You About' series and always produces interesting text and lively, humorous illustrations. He is the author of 'Who's Who in British History' and 'Who's Who in Science and Technology', as well as the four 'Who? What? When?' books; 'Tudors', 'Victorians', 'World War I' and 'World War II'.
Robert Fowke

Debbie Foy

Debbie Foy is an experienced writer of non-fiction books for children. She specialises in fashion, food and biography writing.
Charles Freeman

Writer and teacher Charles Freeman specializes in the 20th century and international affairs. He is an examiner for the World Affairs paper in the International Baccalaureate's history programme, in which 'Dictatorship' was a popular option.
Jess French

Jess French is a passionate vet, zoologist and naturalist who has been named one of Britain's top 50 conservationists by BBC Wildlife magazine. She presented her own TV series on CBeebies called Minibeast Adventure with Jess and worked on Live 'n' Deadly (CBBC), Deadly Mission Madagascar (CBBC), Springwatch (BBC) and Micro Monsters 3D (Sky). Jess has written several books for children, including the Born Free series for Orion Children's Books.
Maddie Frost

Maddie Frost is the author and illustrator of Once Upon a Zzzz, Animobiles and Wakey Birds. She is also the illustrator of The Littlest Things Give The Loveliest Hugs, A is for Artichoke and more. She lives with her husband and dog in Boston, USA.
Charles Fuge

Charles Fuge's picture book debut won both the Macmillan Prize and the Mother Goose Award. Since then he has illustrated more than thirty picture books, including the bestselling Little Wombat stories. He lives in Dorset with his partner, Sarah, and their son Ollie.
