Shawn K. Stout

Shawn Stout has held many jobs, including ice-cream scooper, dog-treat baker, magazine editor, and waitress. Shawn received her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She lives with her family in Maryland.
Hanane Kai

Hanane is obsessed with colours, textures and lighting, and what she loves doing the most is creating worlds where the tactile melts with the digital. Her favorite colour is turquoise, and Hanane loves tea, cooking, and gardening - she dreams of a turquoise plant. Based in Lebanon, Hanane first ventured off as a Graphic Designer (with a BA degree from NDU), then pursued her passion for illustration, photography and miniature set design. She expresses herself through the visuals she creates, and hopes with every illustration to touch her audience, leaving them with a certain feeling or message. In 2016, Tongue Twisters written by Fatima Sharafeddine and illustrated by Hanane Kai, won the prestigious Bologna Ragazzi New Horizons award, which celebrates publishing excellence of children's publishing in developing markets.
Kanwaljit Kaur-Singh

Kanwaljit Kaur-Singh works as a local authority inspector for education and is Chairperson of the British Sikh Education Council.

Peter Kavanagh has written numerous storybooks and picture books for young children.
Liz Kessler

Liz Kessler studied English at Loughborough University, has worked as a teacher and a journalist and has an MA in Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University. Ann Kramer is an experienced children's author whose work focuses mainly on social issues. She has written for publishers such as Dorling Kindersley and Kingfisher. Books for Watts include titles in the 20th-Century History Makers, World War One and World War Two series.
