Scots girl Lindsey Gardiner studied for her degree in Textiles at Dundee University, and went on to complete an MA at Winchester School of Art. Her first book, 'Here come Poppy and Max' was written whilst still at college, and she has not looked back since. As Lindsey says, "the world of children's books is very exciting and I'm over the moon to be part of it." Lindsey's series of young picture books featuring Poppy and Max have proven very popular, selling over 82,000 copies worldwide to date. The loveable pair are set to return in 'Time for Bed Poppy and Max', to be published by Orchard Books in May 2002. Lindsey has illustrated 13 children's titles and has been the sole author of 5, but somehow still finds the time to lecture part time in textile design at Dundee University.
Sally Gardner is an award-winning novelist from London. Her books have been translated into 22 languages and have sold more than one million copies in the UK. Pippa used to work as a teacher and bookseller before turning her hand to writing books for both adults and children. As well as writing, Pippa tours the country visiting schools, libraries and attending literary festivals. She evens fits in a bit of adult tutoring from time to time.

Mick Manning (born in Yorkshire, England, 1959) and Brita Granström (born in Eskilstuna, Sweden, 1969) work together as a team sharing the illustration and text. They have been producing award-winning non-fiction picture books for almost twenty years. They show that the best non-fiction for children can be scholarly, albeit with a light touch, and can have some of the imagination-stretching qualities of fiction. They are well known for their exciting performances involving readings and live drawing using overhead camera projection (often involving participation from members of the audience) all mixed with an audio-visual presentation. Steve was born in Somerset to an English mother and Latvian father. He grew up in North Yorkshire and took a BA Hons degree in Graphic Design at Bath Academy of Art. Steve has been a freelance illustrator since 1981, and has had many advertising commissions, has designed lots of book jackets and is a regular contributor to Soccerstars magazine.Steve lives with his wife and their two daughters, Laura and Rosie, in Banbury, Oxfordsire.
Although Gwé dreamed of becoming a ballerina as a young girl she eventually found another passion, making her pencils dance for the creation of children's books, toys and clothes.After graduating from Fine Arts, Gwé set about designing logos, posters and catalogues in the areas of fashion, food and music. This came to a halt when she decided to follow her true nature and passion, designing for children.Whether it's costumes, toys or books about princesses in far away places, Gwé is at home illustrating for kids. The arrival of her own daughter has further confirmed her love of illustrating and the joy her work brings to little ones of all ages.
