Gabby is also heavily involved with children's magazine OKIDO, and also writes for the CBeebies series 'Messy Goes to OKIDO' and Eco Kids Planet magazine.
Ade Deane-Pratt

In her role as Research Development Manager for the research charity Deafness Research UK, Ade writes about research projects and new developments in science for a wide range of non-scientists, both adults and children. Among other publications, she is responsible for the scientific content on the charity's website, which they are expanding to include interactive sections for children.
Iris Deppe

Iris Deppe is an accomplished illustrator and graphic designer whose work has featured in books, magazines and newspapers as well as on album covers, music posters and t-shirts. She is the illustrator of Little Bell and the Moon, a beautiful picture book that introduces children to the most difficult of topics with warmth, positivity and humour. Iris's artwork reflects her passions and interests, including animals, the 60's and 70's and bright, primary colours.
Louise Derrington

Louise Derrington trained as a Social Anthropologist at Edinburgh University before beginning her working life as a journalist. A chance interview about the teaching of hearing impaired children in Holland caused her to change direction and train as a teacher of both the hearing impaired and special needs. Louise has a low boredom threshold and writing is her new personal challenge.

Narinder Dhami

Narinder Dhami is the author of popular fiction series The Beautiful Game, about a girls' football team, many books in the hugely successful Rainbow Magic series and the bestselling novelisation of the film Bend it Like Beckham. She was a primary teacher before she began writing full time. She lives with her husband in Shropshire.
Katie Dicker

Katie Dicker is a writer and editor who has worked in publishing for over 15 years. She has a degree in politics and philosophy and specialises in children's educational publishing.
Nancy Dickmann

Nancy Dickmann grew up in the USA, where she played baseball, ate hot dogs and read encyclopaedias for fun. She has now lived in England long enough to think that cold and rain are normal, but still has yet to try Morris dancing. Before becoming an author, she worked as an editor and publisher of children's books. Now, with Pushkin the Three-Legged Wonder Cat as her trusty assistant (in charge of lap-sitting), she writes books on a wide range of topics, including animals, space, history, health and explorers. The highlight of her career so far has been getting to interview a real astronaut to find out how they use the toilet in space!
Sandra Dieckmann

Sandra Dieckmann is an illustrator, author and maker. Her work is deeply inspired by all that's weird and wonderful in nature, drifting thoughts and dreams. She was born in the north of Germany but lives and works in east London. Her first book as author and illustrator, Leaf, was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal, longlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize and shortlisted for both the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and tha AOI World Illustration Award.

Cathryn Dresser

Cat Dresser lives in Sussex with her husband and two children, Maisie and Ambrose. A contestant on the third series of The Great British Bake Off in 2012, since the show she has had her recipes featured in The Sun magazine and run baking masterclasses at events including the BBC Good Food Show. Fiona Dunbar

Fiona Dunbar was born in Hertfordshire. She grew up trailing around jazz clubs with her jazz musician stepfather and left school when she was sixteen to go to Art College. Fiona was a regular at the Camden Palace, her and a friend would spend all Thursday night making their clothes for the Friday night's clubbing. When Fiona realised she wouldn't be a famous artist, she began a commercial art career in TV and advertising. After a stint doing illustration for Punch, which she really enjoyed, Fiona began illustrating for picture books by other authors. It was at this time that she met her lovely American lawyer husband Pano. After living in New York for a number of years, where her two children were born, Fiona settled back in North London and began to write for children instead of drawing for them!Fiona now lives in North London and is an active fundraiser for her children's primary school. She loves helping out with the Christmas pantomime and puts her eighties dressmaking skills to good use by making costumes! When she's not writing, painting or gardening, Fiona loves nothing better than to cook. Her creations might not be as magical as Lulu's but they bring just as much pleasure in the end!
