Caryl Hart is the author of many bestselling books for children, including the hugely successful How to Grow A Dinosaur and The Princess and the Peas. She is the winner of the Stockport Children's Book Award, the Sheffield Children's Book Award and the Lancashire Share a Story Award. Leigh is an award-winning animator and worked as art director on the BAFTA-award winning animated series, Charlie and Lola. She is also an award-winning children's book author and illustrator, who is absolutely passionate about writing, making things up and daydreaming. Among her many brilliant picture books is Don't Dip Your Chips in Your Drink, Kate, written by Caryl Hart, which won Highly Commended in the 2010 Sheffield Children's Book Award, Picture Book Category. Leigh lives and works in Lewes, near Brighton and is married with a young family.
Illustrator of Jill Tomlinson's 'The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark,' Paul Howard's illustrations have won acclaim from both the publishing industry and children worldwide. He has won numerous awards, including The Best Book to Read Aloud Blue Peter Award for 'The Bravest Ever Bear' (with Allan Ahlberg) and The Primary English Award for 'A Year in the City' (with Kathy Henderson). Born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, on April Fool's day, Paul always enjoyed drawing and reading. His favourite books included 'Arabel's Raven' by Joan Aitkin and 'The Phantom Tollbooth' by Norton Juster.After graduating with a Graphic Design Degree, Paul worked at the Natural History Museum before becoming an illustrator. He has since worked with authors such as Michael Rosen, Jeanne Willis, Trish Cooke, Cornelia Funke, and Geraldine McCaughrean.Paul now lives in Belfast with his wife and three children and has recently had his authorial debut published, 'Bugville.'
Laura Huliska-Beith is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute. She grew up in Omaha Nebraska, the oldest of 5 children and her siblings were the inspiration behind her first picture book, The Book of Bad Ideas (although she takes full credit for Bad Idea #143). She has since illustrated many books including Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum by Lisa Wheeler, The Recess Queen and The Worst Best Friend both by Alexis O'Neill.
Matt Hunt graduated with a degree in Fine Art from the Birmingham School of Art. He is the author-illustrator of Message in a Bottle and the illustrator of several other picture books, including What's More Scary? and Cinderfella. He lives in Worcestershire.
