Jonathan Baillie

Jonatahn Baillie is a leading zoologist and Director of Conservation Programmes at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). Amongst many other projects, he is responsible for establishing the EDGE programme for ZSL. He was born in Canada but now is based in London, but spends much of his time travelling the world for his work. His mother is an award-winning children's author and he has worked with her on Very Wonderful, Very Rare and Animals on the Edge, which won an SLA information book award.
Aaron Balick (Dr)

Aaron Balick is a psychotherapist, author, academic and media contributor. He's got a passion for taking ideas from the world of psychology and making them understandable so as many people can benefit from them as possible. Aaron has worked with both young people and adults and is really keen to share what he has learned. He does this through blogging, tweeting, writing books, and being on Radio 1's "Surgery with Aled" as their resident psychotherapist.
Alex Barrow

Alex is the artist side of the author and illustrator team that created A Possum's Tail (nominated for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal) and London Calls. He also draws for children's magazine OKIDO.
Hettie Bingham

Hettie loves to write about interesting people. She also writes stories and songs for children of all ages. She has raised three strapping lads and lives in Teddington, England with her husband and youngest son. She enjoys eating cheesecake and likes to dance while she cooks - usually to something jazzy.
Philip Blake

Philip Blake grew up in the West Country and was educated at Oxford University. He has worked in publishing as a writer and editor for more than thirty years, during which time he has specialised in books on historical subjects and religions.

Rachel Blount was born and grew up in Worcestershire. She has worked in children's publishing for over a decade as an author and editor of children's books.

Danièle is French and has lived in the UK since 1982. She has been working as a writer, editor, proof-reader, native-speaker check and consultant since the mid-1980s.
Tony Bradman

Tony Bradman is an experienced editor, writer and anthologist in the world of children's books. He has written numerous plays, stories and poems for young children. His book 'Here come the Heebie-Jeebies and Other Scary Poems' was short-listed for The English 4-11 Awards for the Best Children's Illustrated Books of 2000.
Oscar Brenifier

Oscar Brenifier, holds a Bachelor of biology degree (University of Ottawa) and a PhD in Philosophy (Paris IV - Sorbonne). For many years, in France as well as in the rest of the world, he has been working on the concept of 'philosophical practice', both from a theoretical and practical viewpoint. He is one of the main promoters of the project of philosophy in the city, organizing philosophy workshops for children and adults and philosophy cafés, working as a philosophy consultant, etc. He has published about thirty books in this domain, including the 'Philozenfants' series (Editions Nathan), which has been translated into over twenty-five languages. He founded the Institut de Pratiques Philosophiques (Institute of philosophical practice), to train practical philosophers and organize philosophy workshops in various places: schools, media centres, old people's homes, prisons, social centres, firms, etc. He is one of the authors of the UNESCO report: "Philosophy, a school of freedom".
David Broadbent

David Broadbent has been an illustrator for many a long year, he has created illustrations for different companies and people all over this planet of ours and would like to keep doing so. Books are his favourite thing to work on and he has created artwork for titles such as Do Nice be Kind Spread Happy, Be the Change, Make it Happen and The Camper Van Bible. He lives on the south coast of England with his family, including a strange dog and a three legged hamster.
Jasmine Brooke

Jasmine Brook has written a number of books for children on subjects from sport and art to history, social sciences, geography and natural history. She is married with two children.
Julie Brunelle

Julie Brunelle is a photographer, fibre artist and art educator. She has taught art and craft for more than ten years to socio-economically challenged schools in remote Canadian villages, French Montessori institutes in Quebec and A-level International Baccalaureate pupils. Julie inspires, challenges and encourages her students to push themselves and explore their full potential. She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa with a double major in Arts and English with professional teacher qualifications in both subject areas.
Michael Burgan

I've written more than 250 non-fiction titles for kids, as well as some fiction and adaptations of classic novels. I started my career creating educational materials for Weekly Reader Corporation, including content for one of the first online services, Prodigy. I've won several honors for my work, including a Junior Library Guild selection and the International Reading Association Young Adults Choices List. I am also the editor of The Biographer's Craft, the newsletter of Biographers International Organization. I've also written several dozen plays that have been performed across the United States. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, listening to music, cycling, photography and watching sports.
