Martin Waddell

Martin Waddell is known and respected the world over for his incredible storytelling. Martin has won the Smarties Prize twice and was presented with the Hans Christian Andersen Award for children's literature. For Orchard, Martin has written the fun, action-packed bestseller 'The Dirty Great Dinosaur' and its sequel 'The Super Swooper Dinosaur' (both illustrated by Leonie Lord), and two wonderful story collections 'The Orchard Book of Goblins, Ghouls and Ghosts' (illustrated by Tony Ross) and 'The Orchard Book of Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales' (illustrated by Emma Chichester Clark). Martin lives in Northern Ireland.
Ruth Warburton

Ruth Warburton was born and raised in Sussex, on the south coast of England. Ian Whybrow

Ian Whybrow has lived in Kent, various places in London and as far afield as Hong Kong and New York. The most important thing to him in his writing is that it reads aloud brilliantly and that there is something in it for everyone.
Lee Wildish

Lee Wildish is an acclaimed illustrator. His Spooky, Spooky House won the Overall Red House Children's Book Award, his Spaghetti with the Yeti was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Book Prize, and he has been shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Award and the Sheffield Children's Book Award.
Finty Williams

Finty Williams is a successful stage and screen actress. Her theatre credits include Luise Miller at The Donmar, Twelfth Night at The National, Bedlam at Shakespeare's Globe, Bedroom Farce at Rose Theatre & Duke of York's and Tons of Money at Theatre Royal Windsor. Television work includes Cranford and Born and Bred and film features include The Good Night, Ladies In Lavender and Gosford Park. Finty regularly performs on radio and has read numerous audio books. She also provided the voice of Angelina in the hit children's television and audio book series Angelina Ballerina.
Melanie Williamson

Melanie Williamson is a fantastic new illustrator in the world of picture books, and has just been shortlisted for the Sheffield Children's Book Award. Melanie has been a fan of illustrations and pictures since a very early age. She is particularly inspired by quirky characters and bold, vivid colour. She graduated in BA (Hons) Graphic Design and Illustration at De Montford University in 2000 and has since been happily painting away as an illustrator of children's books.
Jeanne Willis

Jeanne Willis is an award-winning, internationally bestselling author, whose titles include I Hate School, I Want to Be a Cowgirl and Don't Let Go. Jeanne lives in London.
Susanne Winnacker

Susanne studied law and is now a full time writer. She lives in Germany with her husband, a dog that looks like a sheep and three bunnies that have destroyed every piece of furniture she's ever owned. She blogs for The League of Extraordinary Writers.
