Cassia was born and raised in London; with a pencil in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. She has always loved how illustrators are able to transport you into their own worlds, and so aspired to be able to do the same. Cassia drew (a lot) and grew (not very much) and finally did a Masters in Children's Book Illustration, at Anglia Ruskin School of Art. The course helped her realise her ambition to become a visual storyteller. Since then, she's twice been selected for the Cheltenham Illustration Awards, where her work has been exhibited alongside such artists as Shaun Tan. 'Lively Elizabeth,' by Mara Bergman, is her first book. She very much hopes it'll be the first of many!Cassia is currently excited by; Carrot cake, Spring, Polish poster design, Stephen Fry reading anything, and the sound of her dog doing a 'human yawn.'

'Chloe Bennet' is the pseudonym of a highly experienced author and former publisher. The BOYWATCHING books are her first for children.

Delphine was born and brought up in Dijon. She studied illustration in Strasbourg and has been working as an illustrator ever since, working on both magazines and children's books. For Orchard Books Delphine has teamed up with Miriam Moss for Scritch Scratch (October 2001)Delphine has also illustrated for many publishers including Random House New York.Delphine lives in Marseille, but works mainly in Paris.

Frank Lampard is a footballer, father and author of the 'Frankie's Magic Football' series!To date, Frank remains Chelsea Football Club's all-time leading goal scorer, where he was awarded three times Chelsea Player of the Year. In 2014 Frank was the vice captain on the England football squad at the World Cup in Brazil, and then went on to play for Manchester City in 2014 in the UK before signing with New York City FC to play as part of the Major League Soccer side, starting July 2015. Frank was awarded an OBE in the 2015 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to football.Frank enjoys reading with his two daughters, and when they requested stories about football Frank decided to create his own characters and adventures to entertain them. These tales provided the inspiration for 'Frankie's Magic Football'. Frank is passionate about promoting child literacy and is an ambassador of the National Literacy Trust; he hopes to inspire both young girls and boys to read with the 'Frankie's Magic Football' series. "The idea for 'Frankie's Magic Football' came from reading bedtime stories to my daughters. Adventure stories are their favourite and I wanted to combine my love for football with something that I could read to them, and that they would love too. 'Frankie's Magic Football' reminds me of the stories that I used to like to read. Frankie's friends also remind me of the mates that I used to kick a football about with when I was young, as well as some of the players I've met during my career." - FRANK LAMPARD

Gill Lobel was born in Coventry. She went to Manchester University to read English, and then to Leicester to study for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. She has been a teacher for most of her working life mainly teaching English in comprehensive schools. She has also worked with children with Special Educational Needs, and as a Home Tutor for sick or excluded children.Gill has now retired from full time teaching, although she still does some private tutoring, and spends most of her time writing. Her first book was Starlight (Tamarind), and in 2000 Orchard Books published Ellie and the Butterfly Kitten, illustrated by Karin Littlewood. This is a touching picture book about a close relationship between a small girl and her grandmother and the joy that being back with her own mother again brings. Gill's latest novel for Orchard Books is the gritty and thought-provoking story of the overweight Hazel and her battle with the beautiful school bully, Lauren. Both Hazel and Lauren discover there is more to each other than firsts meets the eye.When she is not writing Gill likes gardening, walking and a wide variety of arts and crafts.Gill lives in Leicester with her husband. She has two daughters, two grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.

Hilary Robinson is the author of over 40 children's books including the top selling Mixed Up Fairy Tales and The Copper Tree. She is also a broadcaster and freelance BBC radio producer. Hilary was born in Devon and brought up in Nigeria and England. Her books have been translated into a number of languages and are sold across the world.

I've been an archaeologist, a teacher, and a library assistant (at Antwerp International School), but I'm now a full time children's writer with over forty published books, plus poems in many children's anthologies, and reading scheme stories. I enjoy visiting primary schools to run creative writing workshops and share my work - which includes the award-winning Gilbert the Great, Stuck in the Mud and Knight Time. I also ghost write several series for the Working Partners group, including the very successful OUP series Dinosaur Cove.I love to collect fossils and go for seaside walks near my home in SE England, and visit friends and family in Belgium and America. And I'm always up for an adventure- like sky diving, white water rafting and hunting anacondas in Venezuela.

Escaped teacher, now writing for children with 46 books published so far, ranging from early reading material to teenage novels. I've written 4 books for Franklin Watts, 4 for Wayland and one for Hodder.I'm married with two grown up children and five grandchildren, no pets, though I used to have three beautiful cats, guinea pigs and rabbits. When I was a child, we kept chickens and I loved them, too.I always have my nose in a book. I read both adult's and children's books. My favourite children's books include The Railway Children by E Nesbit, Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson, River on the Say by Philippa Pearce. My adult reading varies from Charles Dickens to many modern authors. I enjoy listening to music, classical, jazz and some pop.

Joanna Mockler was born in Stoke on Trent and was brought up in the seaside town of Formby. Joanna's love for drawing was evident from an early age and she went on successfully complete an Art Foundation then an Illustration degree course. Joanna has had many jobs during her time in education however, her main ambition has always been to be an illustrator.Joanna's first book for Orchard is Wibble Wobble a book which charts the adventures of William and his wobbly tooth! (Written by Miriam Moss).Joanna presently lives in Southport with her husband, hamster and cat.

Joe Friedman was born in Chicago to deaf parents. He has written stories since he was seven and sold his first play at 13.
