Hachette has 3 titles on the Booked Up list

We're pleased to announce that Hachette has 3 titles on the Booked Up 2011 list; How to Train Your Dragon is on the core booklist, Little Bo-Peep has Knickers that Bleep is on the accessible booklist and How to Train Your Dragon Audio is the only audio offering on the Booked Up list.
The How to Train Your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell is enjoying huge success, with the book turned into a Dreamworks animation in 2010, featuring Hollywood greats such as Gerard Butler and America Ferrera. The DVD, which came out late last year, was the highest ranking DVD after the legendary Toy Story 3. The How To Train Your Dragon sequel is scheduled for 2014. This year sees the arrival of National Dragonese Day, on 6th of October, which is aimed at schools and libraries. To mark this exciting national event, we have created a downloadable teacher's pack full of fun and educational activities based on Cressida Cowell's bestselling HICCUP books. Kids can learn how to speak Dragonese and learn all about dragons with Cressida and the interactive videos. The activities included in this pack are suitable for cross-curricular teaching for children between the ages of 5 and 11, covering topics such as Vikings and Dragons and curriculum links including History, Geography, Drama, Art and Literacy. The How to Train Your Dragon Audio is read in Hiccup's own words by David Tennant, well-known for his role as Dr Who.

Little Bo-Peep has Knickers that Bleep is part of the Seriously Silly Rhymes series. The book is written by Laurence Anholt and illustrated by Arthur Robins and is absolutely perfect for reluctant and struggling readers. Hilariously funny rhyming text and limericks are accompanied by brilliant black and white illustrations.

Booked Up is an initiative run by Booktrust and supported by the Department for Education and children's book publishers. The aim is to encourage reading for pleasure and promote independent choice. Every secondary school is offered a free Booked Up resource pack to enable each year 7 pupil in to choose the book that is right for them.
