UK Children's Author Behind Movie Nominated For Two Oscars and Two BAFTAs

How To Train Your Dragon, the 2010 major animated 3D motion picture from DreamWorks has been nominated for two Oscars, it was announced earlier this week. The movie, based on the bestselling children's book of the same name by British author Cressida Cowell, is nominated in two categories; the Best Animated Feature Film and the Best Music Original Score.

It has also won BAFTA nominations for Best Animated Film and Original Music.

The movie received rave reviews from critics and public alike and gained wide-spread media coverage. In its first week of release in the US, the movie took $43.3 million toppling Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland from its number one position. How To Train Your Dragon was one of the Top Ten films of 2010.

"[The] DreamWorks film, based on children's book by Cressida Cowell, is their oddest, warmest and most genuinely charming in years" said The Telegraph.
