David Almond has been shortlisted for The Guardian Children's Fiction Prize with My Name is Mina (Hodder Children's Books)
He joins three other authors on the shortlist:
Return to Ribblestrop, by Andy Mulligan (Simon and Schuster)
Moon Pie, by Simon Mason (David Fickling)
Twilight Robbery, by Frances Hardinge (Macmillan)
My Name is Mina is the prequel to the award-winning Skellig which was made into a film by Sky One in 2009, starring Tim Roth.
