Dragonese Day

Howdeedoodeethere!

6th  October 2011 marks the first ever Dragonese Day and is the perfect occasion to teach your pupils about Vikings, learn how to speak Dragonese and read the brilliant and witty series of How to Train Your Dragon books by Cressida Cowell.

To mark this exciting national event, we have created a downloadable teacher’s pack full of fun and educational activities including the chance to WIN A SCHOOL EVENT WITH CRESSIDA COWELL. The activities included in this pack are suitable for cross-curricular teaching for children between the ages of 5 and 11 covering curriculum areas including History, Geography and Literacy. We are also partnering with the National Literacy Trust to raise money for their Reading is Fundamental campaign to improve literacy amongst the young.

Cressida Cowell says ""My real purpose in backing this campaign is to get kids thinking books are exciting. And once children get into a series they will wallow in something really big. Just look at Harry Potter. Once you've got their attention kids are as they always are they want to wallow in an imaginary world."
